I’m taking part in the 99K For Canines with Dogs Trust Ireland!

I'll be taking on a challenge of walking 99 kilometres in a month to help stray and abandoned dogs and puppies. Every euro raised gives the gift of a second chance to our furry friends in Dogs Trust Ireland's care - thank you for your support!

The aim of Dogs Trust Ireland is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Since opening their Rehoming Centre in 2009, they have rescued and rehomed over 22,000 dogs. They rely on public support to fund their work and they are entirely reliant on the generosity of amazing people to continue our life-saving work. Every single donation raised provides each dog that comes into their care with nutritious food, veterinary treatment, a microchip, vaccinations and most importantly, love and cuddles from their canine carers and a forever home.

Walking 99K for the Dogs Who Deserve the World – With Lily and Niro by My Side

If you’ve ever met Lily and Niro, you already know: they’re not just dogs. They’re family. They’re companions, tail-wagging shadows, therapists with fur, and the reason my socks go missing. Every day they remind me what unconditional love looks like, and I honestly couldn’t imagine life without them.

That’s why this summer, I’m doing something special — something close to my heart. I’ll be walking 99 kilometres in support of Dogs Trust, a charity that works tirelessly to give dogs across the UK & Ireland a second chance at happiness.

Why I'm Walking 99K

The truth is, not every dog is as lucky as Lily and Niro. Some haven’t found their forever home. Some have been neglected or abandoned. That’s where Dogs Trust comes in.

Their work — from rescue and rehabilitation to rehoming and education — makes a real difference. They believe that every dog deserves a loving home. And I do too.

So, I’m walking 99 kilometres in their name. Some days it’ll be sunny strolls, others might be soggy slogs, but every step will be for dogs in need — and I’ll have four very supportive paws trotting alongside me.

How You Can Help

If Lily and Niro have ever made you smile through a photo or a story, or if you just believe dogs deserve the very best, please consider supporting us on this journey. Whether it’s cheering us on, sharing our story, or donating to the cause — it all helps.

Every cent raised will go straight to Dogs Trust, helping dogs get the second chance they deserve.
