I’m taking part in the 99K For Canines with Dogs Trust Ireland!

I'll be taking on a challenge of walking 99 kilometres in a month to help stray and abandoned dogs and puppies. Every euro raised gives the gift of a second chance to our furry friends in Dogs Trust Ireland's care - thank you for your support!

The aim of Dogs Trust Ireland is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Since opening their Rehoming Centre in 2009, they have rescued and rehomed over 22,000 dogs. They rely on public support to fund their work and they are entirely reliant on the generosity of amazing people to continue our life-saving work. Every single donation raised provides each dog that comes into their care with nutritious food, veterinary treatment, a microchip, vaccinations and most importantly, love and cuddles from their canine carers and a forever home.

🐾 99k for Canines: Why I’m Walking for Dogs Trust Ireland 🐾

99 kilometers. 1 big mission. And it’s all inspired by my number one girl, Cara.

Thirteen years ago, Cara was just a tiny, energetic pup, bouncing along beside me at a Dogs Trust walk. Fast forward to today, and my beautiful girl is now 13 years young.

While she is doing incredible for her age—and still absolutely loves our gentle, daily strolls together—99k over the month is just a bit too much for her old paws to handle now. So, while Cara holds down the fort on the sofa, I’m taking on the pavement on her behalf.
But this walk isn’t just a tribute to Cara’s golden years. It’s for the dogs who aren't lucky enough to have a warm sofa and a family who adores them.

💔 Doing it for the Senior & Sick Pups

What breaks my heart is knowing that there are so many older or sick dogs out there who are abandoned precisely when they need love the most.
That is why I love Dogs Trust Ireland. They don’t turn their backs on a dog because it’s getting grey around the muzzle or needs a bit of extra medical care. They give abandoned senior and vulnerable dogs a second chance at a happy life, a cozy bed, and the dignity they deserve.
Every single kilometer I walk is for those gorgeous, forgotten old dogs who just want a quiet place to rest their heads.
