I’m taking part in the 99K For Canines with Dogs Trust Ireland!

I'll be taking on a challenge of walking 99 kilometres in a month to help stray and abandoned dogs and puppies. Every euro raised gives the gift of a second chance to our furry friends in Dogs Trust Ireland's care - thank you for your support!

The aim of Dogs Trust Ireland is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Since opening their Rehoming Centre in 2009, they have rescued and rehomed over 22,000 dogs. They rely on public support to fund their work and they are entirely reliant on the generosity of amazing people to continue our life-saving work. Every single donation raised provides each dog that comes into their care with nutritious food, veterinary treatment, a microchip, vaccinations and most importantly, love and cuddles from their canine carers and a forever home.

Monday 11th May
Well we’re almost done 1/3 of the way through, and look at our lovely fundraising bandana that just arrived in the post, just in time for today’s morning walk!

Thursday 7th May
… and poor Jasper is struggling! He’s not used to walking this much as a poor, tired, lazy sighthound! Still, I cannot believe we’ve raised over €300 thank you SO MUCH to everyone who has not only donated but also who has shared our link and instagram stories etc to help spread the word. This money will make SUCH a difference to dogs in need.

Day 2

Saturday 2nd May
Getting a lazy 5 year old greyhound to walk 99km in a month might be a hard challenge- we had to have a little rest after 2k today 🫣. Oh well, going strong at least for now!

He doesn’t know what’s in store…

Well, we’re getting ready for 99k in May! 

For those of you who know Jasper- an average of 3 km a day will be a challenge. He’s a lazy 5 year old greyhound that prefers the couch to the the pavement! He’s been my walking buddy since we got him almost 5 years ago now from Dogs Trust. 

But I’ll make sure to update as we go and as we tick those Ks off in May.
