I’m taking part in the 99K For Canines with Dogs Trust Ireland!

I'll be taking on a challenge of walking 99 kilometres in a month to help stray and abandoned dogs and puppies. Every euro raised gives the gift of a second chance to our furry friends in Dogs Trust Ireland's care - thank you for your support!

The aim of Dogs Trust Ireland is to give stray and abandoned dogs a second chance at a brighter future with responsible, caring new owners. Since opening their Rehoming Centre in 2009, they have rescued and rehomed over 22,000 dogs. They rely on public support to fund their work and they are entirely reliant on the generosity of amazing people to continue our life-saving work. Every single donation raised provides each dog that comes into their care with nutritious food, veterinary treatment, a microchip, vaccinations and most importantly, love and cuddles from their canine carers and a forever home.

Day Twenty-One: We did it!

Saturday 31st May
This morning’s 3.48km walk took us across the finish line. A MASSIVE thank you to everyone who sponsored us, and who will make a difference to the lives of dogs who deserve more!

Day Twenty: 7km done, just 3km left to go!!

Friday 30th May
Did a longer walk today to make up for missing the last couple of days due to rain. Just 3km left to go!!

Day Nineteen: 3km done, 10km to go!

Tuesday 27th May
Edging closer to the finish line!!

Day Eighteen: 3km done, 13km to go!

Monday 26th May
I’ve swapped the beaches in Nerja for the beach in Salthill! Back home and nearing the end of the challenge. A quick walk tonight during a break in the rain!

Day Seventeen: 5km done, 16km to go!

Sunday 25th May
I’m a day late posting this update! Yesterday was my last day in Spain, and I did 5km in the morning. Getting close to the target now!

Day Sixteen: 2km done, 21km to go!

Friday 23rd May
A very short walk today. Rain in the morning kept me indoors, and as it’s my last full day in Spain, I wanted to make the most of my time at the beach once the sun came back out.

Day Fifteen: 6km done, 23km to go!

Thursday 22nd May
Another gorgeous walk in Nerja!

Day Fourteen: 5km done, 29km to go!

Wednesday 21st May
Another 5km done in Nerja!

Day 13: 5km done, 34km to go!

Sunday 18th May
Day 13 completed in Nerja, Spain! 5km done!

A shorter one this evening - 4km ✅

Wednesday 14th May
It’s a hot one, and today’s 5km was slow going!

Day Nine: 6km done, 53km to go!

Tuesday 13th May
An absolutely beautiful evening, strolling along the waterline. Another 6km closer to the target!

Day Eight: 5km down, 59km to go!

Monday 12th May
At the eight day mark, I’ve done another 5km, giving me 40km in total so far. 59km more to go by the end of the month!

Day Seven: 6km down, 64km to go!

Saturday 10th May
It’s a warm one today, so only took the doggos for the first loop to make sure they didn’t overheat. Another six km done today!

Day Six: 5km done, 70km to go!

Wednesday 7th May
Another sunny, post-evening walk! Another 5km closer to the target!

Day Five: 5km down, 75km to go!

Tuesday 6th May
Today’s 5km route took me along the long walk through to Salthill. Walking without the doggos today.

Day Four: 5km down, 80km to go!

This sunny bank holiday Monday, we’re another 5km closer to our target!
